Next.js 16, Payload CMS, PostgreSQL, Payhero M-Pesa Gateway, GreenAPI WhatsApp Integration, EAT Cron Analytics Engine.
Automated GreenAPI WhatsApp bot that dispatches instant receipts and midnight leaderboard reports directly to the parish group chat.
Pochi La Biashara transfers required manual verification of hundreds of M-Pesa SMS messages against WhatsApp chat logs, leading to late-night Excel reconciliations and accounting disputes.
Church policy prohibited mixing youth fundraiser money with central offertory funds, while acquiring an official youth Paybill required months of parish council approvals that exceeded the event timeline.
To avoid 2-day gateway delays (Paystack) or dual transaction fees (Payhero B2C), Nyota collected funds into its bank account and issued daily payouts to the treasurer, supported by real-time CMS audit logs.
Delivering real-time social commerce features on a micro-budget.
Zero manual Pochi transfers. Users enter their phone number and pledge amount to receive an immediate M-Pesa PIN prompt.
GreenAPI integration fires instant payment receipts into the main parish WhatsApp chat from the treasurer's connected number.
Automated EAT timezone cron job aggregates daily/all-time totals per candidate and broadcasts a leaderboard every night.
Payload CMS financial dashboard tracking exact collection totals and payout reconciliation.
The webhook route (/api/webhooks/payhero) validates incoming callbacks, updates contribution records in Payload CMS with depth-1 relationship hydration, and triggers async GreenAPI WhatsApp group updates.
The daily cron aggregator route (/api/cron/daily-report) calculates exact midnight EAT boundaries (startOfDay.setUTCHours(21, 0, 0, 0)), sorts candidate totals by daily volume, and posts structured updates to the group.
Client-side canvas confetti triggers upon payment confirmation, giving donors immediate visual feedback before the WhatsApp notification fires.
Reduced contribution time from 5 minutes of manual texting down to a simple 15-second web form.
Automated group receipts created friendly candidate competition, noticeably increasing total donor participation.
Demonstrated that community software requires strict alignment with institutional compliance frameworks, setting the benchmark for future client deployments.
